TRANSPORT MANAGER

Traveling by road with horses is a challenge in every way.

You want to make sure that, as a company, you are fully licensed when you are driving your horses to competitions crossing the boarders.

When you move your horses to a different location, Dutch law expects you to do this in a way they see fit.

According to the current regulations, the following is needed for all transports regarding horses to events such as international competitions, clinic visits and movements in between stables:

MAIN_securite-camion-elegance-theault.jpg
EU Transport Permit (NIWO)

Lifestock Competence Certificate

TYPE II License/VLD Certificate

This permit is required if you transport/move horses other than your own. Meaning that client horses are seen as ''third parties paid goods''.

The NIWO license is important to ensure that companies and drivers meet certain requirements and participate in a controlled and regulated industry.

LCC (or Getuigschrift Vakbekwaamheid Veetransport in dutch) is a mandatory certificate if you transport animals by road.

This 1 day course followed by an exam, ensures that you are aware of the regulations regarding the transport of animals.

The Type II License, followed by the VLD Certificate is the official Dutch license to transport animals.

The Type II is provided by the NVWA when your truck is officially approved for Horsetransport. (VLD Certificate). This license is mandatory when applying for TRACES when you move your (client) horses

'' As a transportmanager we will apply for your NIWO-permit together and I will help regulate everything around your travels''.

3. Reliability requirement

A company must also be able to demonstrate that it is reliable. The NIWO states that both the owner of the organization and the skilled person must have a Statement of Good Conduct. An external transport manager can help you with the application for this VOG.

4. Real establishment requirement

This simply means that your company has a branch within the Netherlands.

1. Professional competence requirement

A company must be able to demonstrate that it is professionally competent. For this, a person must be present within the company, who has a professional competence diploma. The diploma is given when successfully grading 6 exams at the CBR. If no one within the organization has obtained this diploma, you can also hire another external person as a competent person: the external transport manager. The transport manager is registered in your company as a company manager and then permanently manages all transport activities.

2. Creditworthiness requirement

You must be able to demonstrate that your company has sufficient risk-bearing capacity. An organization must have enough money to meet all obligations. If you have a vehicle that is going to be driven, for example, an equity of €9000 is mandatory. With each additional vehicle, this amount will be added to another €5000. The risk-bearing capacity can be demonstrated in several ways. The external transport manager can also help you with this. You apply for the Creditworthiness yourself, costs depends on which NOAB accountant you choose.
